Shadow Selves: animus
I continue to grapple with the fact that although art making is what I want to do, I often find it a real battle within myself to get to the point of making; to put aside the dreams and distractions and to engage with the reality and difficulties of creating something.
I draw on the world of imagination, thought and feeling; but also need to take action to translate these into physical form in the outer world, or else inaction and doubt can undermine the creative urge.
In Jungian terms, what it needed is the contribution of the animus, with its attributes of decisive thought and action, integrating the conscious and unconscious realms.
